Sh Suhyup Bank MBN Women’s Open “Dreams of Victory Gather at The Star Hue”
[Yangpyeong=Kang Byeong-koo] Leading players on the KLPGA Tour gathered for the official photocall ahead of the 2026 Sh Suhyup Bank MBN Women’s Open, raising anticipation for one of the season’s most competitive events.
The tournament, the tenth event of the 2026 KLPGA Tour season, offers a total prize purse of KRW 1 billion, including a winner’s prize of KRW 180 million. The championship will be played over three days beginning May 29 at The Star Hue Golf & Resort in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province.
Known for its challenging course setup and dramatic terrain, The Star Hue Golf & Resort is regarded as a venue that demands exceptional shot-making ability and strategic course management. Players will need both precision and patience to contend for the title.
The photocall featured Kim Jaehee, Bang Shinsil, defending champion Jeong Yunji, Jaravee Boonchant, Park Hyunkyung, and Yoo Hyeonjo. Standing alongside the championship trophy, the players displayed confident smiles while expressing their determination and readiness for the week ahead.
Jeong Yunji returns to defend the title she captured in impressive wire-to-wire fashion last year. Meanwhile, Thailand’s Jaravee Boonchant enters the tournament with momentum after securing her first KLPGA Tour victory last week and will attempt to claim back-to-back titles.
Bang Shinsil and Yoo Hyeonjo are both seeking their second victories of the season, while Park Hyunkyung and Kim Jaehee continue to demonstrate consistent form. With so many top contenders in the field, the battle for the championship at The Star Hue is expected to be fiercely contested.
In addition to the competition, the tournament will feature a variety of fan participation programs and charity initiatives. Donations accumulated through birdies and designated charity zones will be contributed through the Suhyup Foundation to support welfare programs for Korea’s fishing communities.
