Sh Suhyup Bank MBN Women’s Open “Smiles Set on Victory as the Fairways Heat Up Again”
[Yangpyeong=Kang Byeong-koo] The atmosphere surrounding the 2026 KLPGA Tour’s tenth event, the Sh Suhyup Bank MBN Women’s Open, intensified as many of the tour’s top players gathered for the tournament’s official photocall ahead of the opening round.
The event, which offers a total prize purse of KRW 1 billion and a winner’s prize of KRW 180 million, will be held at The Star Hue Golf & Resort in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province, beginning May 29.
The Star Hue is widely known as one of the KLPGA Tour’s more demanding venues, requiring precise shot control and strategic course management. Significant elevation changes, blind holes, and complex undulations are expected to challenge the field throughout the week.
The photocall featured Kim Jaehee, Bang Shinsil, defending champion Jeong Yunji, Jaravee Boonchant, Park Hyunkyung, and Yoo Hyeonjo. Standing alongside the championship trophy, the players greeted media members and fans with confident smiles while showcasing their determination ahead of the tournament.
Jeong Yunji returns to defend the title she captured in impressive wire-to-wire fashion last year. Meanwhile, Thailand’s Jaravee Boonchant arrives with strong momentum after claiming her first KLPGA Tour victory last week and will attempt to secure back-to-back wins.
Bang Shinsil and Yoo Hyeonjo are both seeking their second victories of the season, while Park Hyunkyung and Kim Jaehee continue to display consistent form. With so many leading contenders in the field, the race for the championship is expected to be one of the most competitive of the season.
In addition to the tournament action, a variety of fan-participation events and charitable initiatives will be held throughout the week. Donations generated through the “Birdie Wave Hole” and “Charity Zone” programs will be contributed through the Suhyup Foundation to support welfare projects for Korea’s fishing communities.
