[THE CAPTURE=Kang Byeong-koo] SHIN Yeji (19) captured the first title of her professional career, relying on steady course management and outstanding concentration to win on the KLPGA Jump Tour.

Competing at Baekje Country Club in Buyeo, Chungcheongnam-do, SHIN finished the KLPGA 2026 Jeju Airport Rent-a-Car·Baekje CC Jump Tour 3rd Event with a total score of 5-under-par 139 to claim victory.

Her final round began with an early challenge when she opened with a bogey on the 1st hole. However, she quickly recovered and regained momentum.

Starting with a birdie on the 7th hole, SHIN caught fire with three consecutive birdies on holes 7, 8, and 9, immediately moving herself into contention for the championship.

The birdie on the 9th hole proved particularly important, serving as a turning point in the tournament. From that moment forward, SHIN maintained control and continued to play with remarkable consistency throughout the back nine.

After the victory, SHIN expressed her excitement.

“I’m so happy to win for the first time in my career,” she said. “The celebration and water shower I received in front of the clubhouse after the round is something I will never forget.”

She also credited her offseason preparation for the breakthrough result.

“My training camp in Dubai helped me tremendously,” SHIN explained. “I spent many nights practicing and working on my physical conditioning, and that preparation allowed me to stay focused until the very end.”

One of SHIN’s greatest strengths is her positive mindset under pressure. Even when things do not go according to plan, she remains confident in her ability to recover.

“Even if my shots aren’t perfect, I believe I can always recover with my short game,” she said. “I want to be the type of player who never gives up until the final hole.”

The victory also gives SHIN a significant advantage in the race for full KLPGA membership. Players who finish among the top 10 on the combined money list from Jump Tour Events 1 through 4 earn full membership status, making this win an important step toward her long-term goals.
